DESCRIPTION:The Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk supports First United’s work in the Downtown Eastside (DTES). Groups from around Vancouver gather once a year to walk and show their support for the community. \nUse this link to “join the team” as a walker or make a donation for Team Vancouver Unitarians! \nThe start/finish of FIRST UNITED’s 2026 Coldest Night of the Year event will be at 312 Main St. The main door access is via the entrance on the E Cordova side of the building. \nWalkers can choose between a 2 km route around Chinatown or a 5 km route stretching down the seawall along False Creek. Send any questions to VanU member Yvonne M at yvonnemarcus[at]gmail[dot]com. \n \nAbout FIRST UNITED: \nOn the front-lines every day\, FIRST UNITED’s low-barrier essential services include shelter to 51 residents\, legal advocacy\, tax filing\, spiritual care\, mail and phone services\, overdose response\, provision of essential items like clothing and toiletries\, and over 1\,000 free meals each week to DTES community members.
