SUMMARY:Meditation and Chi Gong
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday mornings\, we have two offerings in our Meditation Room. \nFirst\, there is Chi Gong from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. This practice is Chanting to clear organs and/or Chanting to clear chakras as originally taught by Dr. Steven Aung. Facilitated by Victoria Oginski. \nYou are also welcome to join us from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for silent meditation. \nFor the past nine years\, the group has been led by Victoria Oginski\, who has been a dedicated meditator for over 45 years. She is a Buddhist and has studied with many extraordinary Buddhist masters over the years in Canada\, Nepal\, India\, and Tibet. Although informed by Buddhist principles\, the facilitation is more universal in approach and everyone is welcome. \nThere is no formal fee\, but please consider dana (donation) to VanU or the Refugee Committee.

St. Frances of Assisi has been a source of insight for many Catholic and non-Catholic followers\, and Frances David has had profound influence in our own Unitarian faith. \nDownload the Order of Service\nRelated Reading\nSermon text\nWeekly services\n\nWe gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. Worship creates connections within\, among\, and beyond us\, calling us to our better selves\, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion. \n\nAfter service\, we gather in Hewett Centre for Coffee and Social Hour. DESCRIPTION:In March\, many of our small groups will be discussing this month’s theme: Seeking Wisdom. We’ll launch this theme with an all-ages service focusing on wisdom derived from spiritual elders and exploring the sources that we each draw on for wisdom. \nThere will be a light lunch after the service followed by our Exploration Groups (choose your interest) 12:30-1:45 pm: \n\nPaganism 101: This adult education course\, offered bi-annually at Vancouver Unitarians\, focuses on paganism that is compatible with and complementary to modern Unitarian rationality. Today’s session is a teaser for the upcoming fall course. Led by Louise Bunn in Lindsay-Priestly.\nListening Circle: The Healthy Relations Team invites you to join a listening circle to share your reflections on how the wisdom of elders or other sources might provide solace in this time of chaos and confusion. DESCRIPTION:Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality education for Grades 7-9\n(birthdays in 2011\, 2012\, 2013)\nThis series runs for 25 Sundays\, October 5 to May 31 (usually 11am – 12:30pm)\, excluding holiday weekends.
