SUMMARY:Exploration Sunday: Seeking Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:In March\, many of our small groups will be discussing this month’s theme: Seeking Wisdom. We’ll launch this theme with an all-ages service focusing on wisdom derived from spiritual elders and exploring the sources that we each draw on for wisdom. \nThere will be a light lunch after the service followed by our Exploration Groups (choose your interest) 12:30-1:45 pm: \n\nPaganism 101: This adult education course\, offered bi-annually at Vancouver Unitarians\, focuses on paganism that is compatible with and complementary to modern Unitarian rationality. Today’s session is a teaser for the upcoming fall course. Led by Louise Bunn in Lindsay-Priestly.\nListening Circle: The Healthy Relations Team invites you to join a listening circle to share your reflections on how the wisdom of elders or other sources might provide solace in this time of chaos and confusion. Fireside Room\nWisdom of our Bodies: Come and join Ariel for some active games. All ages welcome. Outside\, weather permitting. Meet in the alcove.

SUMMARY:Circle Dance: Celebrating the Wisdom of Women and the Earth
DESCRIPTION:We are on the verge of International Working Women’s Day (March 8) and just a few weeks from the Spring Equinox. Marg Piercy’s poem\, A Strong Woman evokes the ways women are strong: “A strong woman is a woman determined to do something others are determined not be done…” \n“Strong is what we make\neach other. Until we are all strong together\,\na strong woman is a woman strongly afraid.” \nThe Spring Equinox evokes the resilience of life\, the determination to grow from seedlings to fruit. \nWe will share dances that bring awareness of the strength\, resilience and wisdom of women and the earth. Women like Boudica/ Boadicea\, a symbol of the struggle for justice and independence in Britain during the Roman Empire or Julien of Norwich\, who assured those who came to see her that “all will be well\,” during the black death in the middle ages.  In more recent times\, Joanna Macy shared the Elm Dance to help heal the collective trauma of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. We will share these dances as well as others that are about survival\, resilience and the hope of renewal that spring offers. \nAll are welcome to join this circle — whether you are new to circle dance or experienced. All dances will be taught.

SUMMARY:Breaking Bread: Family Centred Community Dinners
DESCRIPTION:Gather round for Vancouver Unitarians monthly Breaking Bread potluck! It’s a time each month when we circle back\, to be community together in a family-centred dinner for all ages (think of the broadest definition of family and you’ll find that you’re invited!). In a community as large as ours\, it’s easy to find our connections revolving around a small group without many chances to meet newcomers; it’s just as easy for newcomers to find themselves orbiting on the periphery of the congregation\, not sure how to connect with existing members. Breaking Bread is a chance to make those connections\, while celebrating the cycles of our lives and the wheel of the year. \nWith this month’s gathering landing on Pi Day (March 14th – 3.14)\, we’re celebrating all things pie/pi related! Vancouver Unitarians’ Men’s Group is hosting and will provide a few main dishes\, and you’re invited to please bring something to share if you are able. Maybe chicken pot pie\, or hand pies\, or shepherds’ pie\, or apple pie\, or pecan pie\, or cottage pie\, or shoofly pie\, frito pie\, or pizza pie! The possibilities of pie are truly endless! \nIn addition to the tasty meal\, we’ll have activities exploring circular symbols in spiritual traditions\, mathemagic tricks\, food/math trivia\, and much more! \nPlease RSVP below to let us know that you’re coming and how many friends you’re bringing!

DESCRIPTION:On March 15th\, 2026\, the Social Justice and Intercultural Teams will be jointly sponsoring a forum at 12:30 in the Fireside Room. Several United Churches in Vancouver have also taken the pledge. \nThe guest speakers are: Jeeda Musleh and Shirarose Wilensky. Jeeda is the lead organizer of Apartheid Free Communities\, Canada.
