DESCRIPTION:The single strongest predictor of climate action is whether people talk about it. But how to do that in these times of intersecting poly-crisis\, where mention of climate change is made to feel taboo\, socially? \nKaren Crosby of Regenerate BC will facilitate an interactive workshop on strategies and best practices to empower you to use your best voice in communicating solutions to what we all fundamentally care about. The workshop will focus (not exclusively) on solutions related to transportation.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an engaging presentation by Palestinian Chef Izzeldin Bukhari of Sacred Cuisine from East Jerusalem. \nHe will talk to us about Palestinian food\, with a special focus on vegetarian and vegan dishes from the Somi tradition. Izzeldin is a Sufi Muslim\, with deep roots in Gaza where he used to go as a child to visit his Grandmother\, and he cooks a lot of  Gazan food. \nIzzeldin is also an ardent environmentalist because of his interest in what goes into growing and nourishing the food that then feeds our bodies and souls. \nThis forum is sponsored by the Social Justice Team. The event is FREE and no tickets are required. \nSnacks brought by SJ Team members will be served. Please note that Izzeldin will not be cooking\, but will be open to questions.
