SUMMARY:Circle Dance: Red Dress Day and more!
DESCRIPTION:May 5 is known as Red Dress Day in Canada. Red Dress Day honours the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women\, girls\, 2-spirit and gender diverse people in Canada. We will dance in solidarity with the families and communities that are working for justice\, healing and change. \nIn Mexican culture\, May 5th is Cinco de Mayo\, Battle of Puebla Day\, and so we celebrate this as well as the May 1st Celtic festival known as May Day and International Workers Day\, which originated in the late 19th century to commemorate the fight for an 8-hour day. While many workers have benefited from this historic victory\, many groups of workers still work long hours to feed their children and pay the rent. \nWe will weave these diverse threads in our dances on May 5th. Please join us in solidarity\, community and in celebration.  And don’t hesitate to wear red! \nThis is a welcoming circle for new and experienced dancers alike. All dances will be taught.

DESCRIPTION:YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME SO FAR\nSpiritual Autobiography Workshop for the 55+ \nOffering from Rita Cavigioli \nPlease RSVP below to sign up for this 10-session workshop series forthcoming at VanU. \nThe main goal of the workshop is to offer tools and stimuli that will help you to reexamine your life experiences in a creative way; find spiritual meanings and threads in your actions\, choices\, recollections\, desires\, projects\, and legacies. \nRevisiting the phases of your lives will help you retrieve memories\, emotions\, loved ones and significant objects\, and understand what you want to pass on to new generations. On a spiritual level\, the “third and fourth age” can be viewed not only as a gateway to wisdom but also\, and more importantly\, as an opportunity for transformative roles and unexplored potential. \nRita Cavigioli is Professor Emerita at the University of Missouri- Columbia. She also holds the diploma of “Expert in the facilitation of autobiographical workshops and the collection of life stories” from LUA (Libera Università dell’Autobiografia).
