AV Support for Sanctuary Rentals
The Vancouver Unitarians Sanctuary is equipped with a professional audio-visual system suitable for concerts, ceremonies, lectures, and community gatherings.
Basic sound support is included with every rental, and additional AV services are available at an hourly rate.
What’s Included in Every Rental
All Sanctuary rentals include basic audio support from our on-site staff at no extra charge. This covers up to three wired vocal microphones and assistance with connecting a laptop to our large screen display, if needed.
This is suitable for straightforward spoken-word events, small ceremonies, and similar gatherings.
Additional AV Support
If your event requires more than basic audio, you can request one of our trained technicians.

How Billing Works
AV technician time is billed at the hourly rate from one hour before your event starts to half an hour after it ends. This built-in window covers setup, sound check, and basic packdown. A setup call is included, and any further prep or consultation is billed at the same hourly rate.
Choosing the Right Level of Support
Not sure which tier suits your event? Here are some examples:
- A memorial service with a speaker and one reader: basic audio is likely sufficient.
- A concert with multiple musicians and instruments, no recording needed: sound mixing.
- A lecture or panel you wish to archive: sound mixing with audio recording.
- An event you want to stream live online: camera and audio mixing for recording, or full live stream.

Please indicate your AV requirements at the time of booking. If you are unsure what you need, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help choose the right option. Note that availability of AV technicians is not guaranteed for last-minute requests, so we encourage you to book in advance.
Our Sanctuary has excellent acoustics and no matter where an audience member is seated, they’ll have top-quality sound and good visibility of our large screen display.
A number of choirs and musical societies are regular clients, and we’d love to add your organisation to our roster – or host a one-time musical special event.
