Art Tours: George Clutesi Retrospective at the Bill Reid Gallery

February 1 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

You’re invited to join an Art Tour to Bill Reid Gallery and the Vancouver Art Gallery with Gerta Moray and Hisako Masaki. Please note the new date, Feb. 1, for our visit to the George Clutesi Retrospective at the Bill Reid Gallery.

Meet us at 11:00 am at the Bill Reid Gallery. After the tour and a snack break, we will go on to the Vancouver Art Gallery by 1:15 pm for Emily Carr: A Room of Her Own, plus the chance to see a retrospective of Denyse Thomasos, the remarkable Trinidadian-Canadian painter.

This tour is part of IPA Cultural Connections. Everyone is welcome – please RSVP to gmoray[at]uoguelph[dot]ca if you haven’t already done so. You can choose to join us for one or both parts of this trip.

About George Clutesi

The Nuu-chah-nulth artist, actor, and activist George Clutesi played an important role in championing Indigenous culture during the 1940s and after. Coincidentally, he cultivated a friendship with Emily Carr a few years before her death. This is a wonderful chance to trace the connection between these two influential artists.
