Film Screen and Discussion: MYANMAR The Forgotten Revolution

March 10 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

The IPA and Social Justice Teams and will be co-sponsoring the screening of the film MYANMAR The Forgotten Revolution (2022) Director Katie Arnold, Journeyman Pictures. The film’s running time is 53 minutes.

Myanmar may be the most violent among the 50 wars tracked globally with an estimated death toll of at least 50,000 since the 2021 military coup, including at least 8,000 civilians.  The conflict has displaced approximately 2.3 million people, according to the United Nations, yet it has received relatively muted international attention compared to the crises in Ukraine and Gaza. This rare film gives witness to  a forgotten revolution born out of decades of brutal oppression.

The Environment Team is hosting a lunch at Noon in Hewett Hall, and you are welcome to bring your lunch with you into Fireside to watch the film. After viewing the film, the audience is welcome to stay for a discussion. Popcorn and snacks will be provided.
