Second Sunday Book Group – Fire Weather by John Vaillant

The VanU Second Sunday Book Group will meet on Sunday October 13, 12:30 p.m. at Biddle and online at this link to discuss Fire Weather by John Vaillant.
John Vaillant is a stellar Vancouver author. His books read like gripping novels but are based in reality and well-researched facts. This non-fiction book sets the scene for the unimaginable firestorm that engulfed the city of Fort McMurray Alberta in May, 2016. He digs deep into the history of the boreal forest, the tar sands, the oil industry, the city, fire itself and the dreadful beast that was created by one small spark. Deeply disturbing and enlightening.
Everyone who has read or is interested in hearing about this book is welcome.
