We’re actively recruiting volunteers for several roles involving occasional physical tasks around our campus. These are great opportunities to support our community.

SNOW REMOVAL: SNOW DAYS TEAM (up to 8 members)
In addition to our walkways, ramps, parking lot, and courtyard, the Vancouver Unitarians are responsible for shoveling the city sidewalks around our campus at 49th and Oak. We’re looking for volunteers to help on snow days.
Requirements: Under 80 years of age (insurance requirement). Volunteers will be expected to arrive as early as 8 a.m. on snow days.
Volunteer responsibilities: Shovel sidewalks and courtyard walkways on snow days
Estimated time: 1 to 3 hours up to several times a year
Staff support: Our head caretaker will be in touch with the volunteer team to coordinate.

SANCTUARY CHAIR WRANGLER TEAM (up to 8 members)
For special services and other occasions, the Vancouver Unitarians occasionally need to rapidly reconfigure the chairs in our Sanctuary. We’re looking for volunteers to help move and arrange chairs.
Requirements: Strong backs and able to follow plans for regular set up and special set-up of chairs. Under 80 years of age (insurance requirement).
Estimated time: 1.5 hours several times per year
Staff support: Our head caretaker will be in touch with the volunteer team to coordinate.

ART-WORK INSTALLERS TEAM
Working under the direction of the Art Committee, volunteers are needed to hang and uninstall art pieces in the Sanctuary, Hewett Hall, and Fireside Room.
Requirements: Under 80 years of age (insurance requirement).
Estimated time: 2 hours approximately every three months
Note: Staff will connect you with the Art Committee lead volunteers.
