Second Sunday Book Group

The Vancouver Unitarians’ Second Sunday Book Group meets after the Sunday service on the second Sunday of each month (except July and August). We meet at 12:30 pm in the Biddle room and online (by request – please contact rdainow[at]gmail.com if interested in attending online). Everyone is welcome.
On Sunday, March 9, all are welcome to dive into “The Candy House” by Jennifer Egan—a thought-provoking, award-winning novel that explores memory, technology, and human connection. Told through a series of unconventional yet interconnected narratives, the story revolves around “Own Your Unconscious,” a futuristic technology that lets people upload their memories to a collective digital space in exchange for access to the memories of others. If a technology like ‘Own Your Unconscious’ existed, how do you think it would change relationships, identity, and society as a whole?
