Sunday Service: A Deeper Acknowledgement

Rev. Shawn Gauthier, Laureen Stokes, and the Daughters of the Drum
Each week, we acknowledge, with gratitude, that our congregation sits on the lands of the Musqueam, the Squamish, and the Tsleil-Waututh. But do you know the deeper history of the land at the corner of 49th and Oak? Are you aware of the complicated role that Unitarians and our other spiritual forebears played in settling this continent? On this Truth & Reconciliation Sunday, we will seek to better understand both our tradition’s and our congregation’s history as an act of reconciliation. We will be joining again by Aline LaFlamme and the Daughters of the Drum.

We gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.
After service, we gather in Hewett Centre for Coffee and Social Hour. Families with children and newcomers are always welcome!
