Sunday Service: A Theology for Breaking Up

Break ups can happen to us at any time in our lives and in so many different ways. There’s the classic romantic break up, of course, but we can also experience big shifts in our friendship and family relationships as well. Have you ever broken up with a whole community, or a worldview? Changes such as these can bring a mix of pain and possibility, and can often leave us feeling as though we are up the river without a map. In this service we’ll explore the spiritual practices and values that can support us through significant changes in relationships, both personally and as Unitarian Universalists.

Casey Stainsby (she/her) is an aspirant for Unitarian Universalist ministry, studying part-time at the Vancouver School of Theology. She also serves the Canadian Unitarian Council as the Youth and Young Adult Program Manager. Casey is thrilled to have just moved back to Vancouver, where she grew up, after having lived in both Montreal and Victoria.
