Sunday Service: Remembering Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and 80 Years of Nuclear Violence

Remembering Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and 80 Years of Nuclear Violence
Hisako Masaki, Cecilia Gruber, Huguette Hayden, Yvonne Marcus and Chihiro Honma
An atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, and on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. Nuclear violence continues to harm lives through nuclear weapons, their production, testing, and around nuclear facilities. Let us remember those lives and walk with the survivors to end wars and nuclear violence. The service will be led by Hisako Masaki, Cecilia Gruber, Huguette Hayden, and Yvonne Marcus of the Social Justice Team, as well as Chihiro Honma, the pianist.

We gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.
After service, we gather in Hewett Centre for Coffee and Social Hour. Families with children and newcomers are always welcome!
