You’re invited to the Vancouver Art Gallery with our IPA Team

Oct 25, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

IPA invites members of the congregation to join us on a visit to Conceptions of White at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

This highly thought-provoking show examines the visual legacy of racism and colonialism, illustrating how conceptions of a “White race” emerged in visual representations and have historically distorted perceptions of the inherent worth and dignity of our fellow human beings, as well as how artists are unsettling those stereotypes today.  Gerta Moray will facilitate discussion during and after the visit.

Meet us at the VAG on the 3rd floor at 10:30 am. At 12:00 pm we will adjourn for discussion, coffee, and refreshment at the VAG Bistro.

If you are interested and cannot come on Oct 25, there can be second group visit on Friday November 3. (Admission is pay what you can after 4:00 but you must book a free admission ticket online if you are not a VAG member). Gerta can be available for discussion at the gallery from 6:45-8:00pm.
