Death Café

Death Café is currently running at UCV, please click here for times and dates.

Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session; it promotes straightforward and open dialogue about death. The objective is to ‘increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.’

We will spark conversation over dessert and snacks in small groups of 4-5 people. You bring your questions, curiosities, anxieties, and hopes to the table and the group discussion grows from the collective willingness to dive deep into the implications of our shared mortality.

See deathcafe.com/what for background and information about what to expect. If you are grieving a new or deep loss and want additional support, please reach out to Rev. Shawn Gauthier at minister@ucv.im who can connect you with pastoral care resources in our congregation.
