Time & Talent Auction
On Saturday, November 2nd, Vancouver Unitarians will host a much-loved and anticipated evening fundraising event: a live auction and social evening in Hewett Centre.
A silent auction will also begin on Sunday, October 27 (before and after the service) and continue on the night of Saturday, November 2.
Not only will this raise much-needed deficit-busting funds for VanU, but it will also present an exciting and creative opportunity to make new connections within the congregation. We welcome your participation in both the silent auction and the live auction.

You must have a paddle number to bid in the silent and/or live auction, and everyone is strongly encouraged to pre-register to avoid line-ups. You will receive a registration confirmation by email with your paddle number. We are asking for a modest donation of $5.00 to help cover processing costs.
Auction Catalogue
There are almost 90 donations from the VanU congregation, and each are described in the catalogue. Those with a green background will be in the live auction. Those with a light blue background will be in the silent auction. Those with a dark blue background will also be in the silent auction but are fixed-price offerings. Have fun browsing.

Silent Auction
The silent auction will commence before and after the service on Sunday, October 27, and continue on the night of Saturday, November 2. You need to be registered before you can bid on any items.
Live Auction and continuation of Silent Auction
Date: Saturday, November 2nd
- 5:30 – Registration, live entertainment begins – JES Trio, silent auction continues in the Fireside Room.
- 6:00 – Social hour with music, your finger food potluck contributions, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. The silent auction continues.
- 7:00 – The live auction begins, no further registrations.
- 7:45 – Intermission – last chance to bid in the silent auction.
- 8:00 – Live auction continues.

How the auction works
You must register to get a paddle number before you can bid in either the silent auction or the live auction. You cannot register after the live auction starts at 7 pm. Click here to read our complete auction guide and FAQ for more details.
Silent auction item bid sheets will be available in Hewett Centre beginning Sunday, Oct 27. The winning bidders will be announced during the live auction on Nov 2 and will be asked to make payment at that time.
Bidding paddles will be given out beginning at 5:30 on the live auction day. Bring your registration email when you come on Nov 2, and you will be given a paddle to use in the live auction. A live auctioneer will conduct the auction.
Payment: When you finish bidding for the evening, volunteers will be available in the Lindsey-Priestley Room for payment. You can pay by cheque, credit card, or e-transfer. You will also be able to pay for your winning bids from your phone.
All sales are final. Arrangements concerning time and place of service, where necessary, are to be made between donor and buyer.
