Security Alert: Fake Emails Pretending to be from Rev Shawn

There are fake emails circulating that are pretending to be from Rev Shawn. These are not genuine.

How to Identify Legitimate VanU Emails

All genuine emails will only ever come from an email address that ends with @vanu.ca. If the sending email address doesn’t end with vanu.ca, it is fake.

What These Fake Emails Ask For:

These scam emails often request urgent help, such as:

  • Purchasing gift cards
  • Personal information or passwords
  • Money transfers
  • Clicking on suspicious links

No member of staff would ever make these kinds of requests via email.

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Email:

  • Don’t click on any links
  • Don’t reply or provide any information
  • Check the email address carefully – does it end with vanu.ca?
  • When in doubt, call the office to verify before taking any action

Quick Safety Tips:

  • Be cautious with emails that create urgency or pressure you to act quickly
  • If an email seems unusual or out of character, trust your instincts
  • Legitimate organisations never ask for passwords via email

If you have any questions or concerns about an email you’ve received, please contact the office.

Stay safe and be vigilant with any incoming requests for help.
