11:15 am—12:15 pm in the Fireside Room: With fieldtrips once a month to other houses of worship in our community (carpool/transit buddies can be arranged)
Crossing Paths is a core program for Unitarian Universalist children that introduces us to various religions and spiritual paths. Each year we learn about four or five different religions, including Unitarian Universalism. Each unit involves relationship building with members of our own and other communities who are involved in that tradition, as well as a field trip visit to a place of worship. In between units, we work on a social justice project together, to be determined by the group.
You can read a bit more about the Crossing Paths curriculum, though please note that we make some edits and additions of our own.
This program is important in terms of broadening our understanding of the scope of human spirituality and culture, breaking down stereotypes, and deepening our own spiritual journeys. We hope you’ll consider being a part of this program.
We explore 4-5 religions each year on a three year rotation. That’s a total of 14 religions over the course of three years, from Buddhism to Islam, Sikhism to Paganism to Coast Salish spirituality. Join us at any time!
Registration is for the safety and accountability of our staff and volunteers to your children. It helps us provide proper ratios, support, and age appropriate programming. Thank you!
