What to expect

The first thing you notice is the appealing design of architecture and landscape. Inside the bright and attractive Sanctuary, there is a feel of energy among people, striving with open minds and open hearts, that immediately makes you feel comfortable and welcome.

It’s a place where atheists, agnostics and people who believe in God, any God, can come together. There’s a lot of connections and values that are built throughout lifetimes that come together in this Sanctuary.

Sunday morning services

Rev. Shawn Gauthier
Minister - He/Him
We gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. We gather in worship to find meaning and live more deeply. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion. Children have a place in worship with support to stretch out and engage in our pray ground in the Sanctuary. Children’s Group and Crossing Paths classes take place in the Hall after the wisdom story. Child specific programs and festivals are offered throughout the year during worship and as special events. Youth meet together to build community, fun, and leadership on Sunday afternoons. Our adult programs are varied, updated regularly and worth exploring. From time to time, worship services incorporate holiday celebrations, multi-generational plays and pageants, longer musical performances, child dedications, and coming-of-age ceremonies.

Hello newcomers!

The Vancouver Unitarians are an active and inclusive community dedicated to spiritual growth and social justice. Newcomers are always welcome here. If you’re new here, we encourage you to please tell us about yourself and what you’re looking for.

Our Sunday Coffee and Social Hour takes place in person at VanU campus at Oak & 49th starting at Noon, right after service. You’re welcome to drop in, grab a coffee or tea – and meet some new people.

We also regularly offer workshops, tours, and other events to introduce newcomers to our organization and faith tradition.
